Earlier this year we had a really special night at the Whitehorse Business Group Excellence in Business Awards. It was a really special night for us, and one that we’ll look back on as an important milestone in our journey. Being nominated for a local business award felt like a genuine moment of recognition, especially given the number of businesses involved. There were hundreds of nominations across all categories, which made being included feel even more meaningful.
It wasn’t just about the award itself. It was about what that nomination represented and the work that had gone into building the business to this point. Moments like this also give us a chance to reflect on our story and how far we’ve come.
Being nominated for the Consumer Business Award was something we were incredibly proud of. As a business, we’ve always focused on delivering quality work, building a strong team, and creating a positive experience for our clients. To be recognised in that way felt like a reflection of those efforts.
It’s easy to stay focused on what’s next, but being nominated reminded us that the foundations we’ve built are being seen and valued within the wider community. That kind of recognition reinforces the importance of staying consistent with what matters most.
The night itself was really well organised and enjoyable from start to finish. It was a sit-down dinner that created a relaxed and welcoming environment, making it easy for people to connect and have genuine conversations. It struck a great balance between professionalism and approachability, which helped everyone feel comfortable and engaged.
There was a strong sense of community in the room, with local business owners and council representatives all coming together. One of the highlights for us was connecting with another local business and starting conversations around potential cross-promotion. More than anything, we really valued being present, having open conversations, and building relationships that can continue beyond the event.
Being nominated and attending the awards night was meaningful in itself, and it reinforced the direction we’re heading in. It gave us confidence that the way we’re building the business, through a focus on quality, team development, and client experience, is being recognised within the local community.
It was a positive night that allowed us to step outside the day-to-day and connect with others building something meaningful.
